The Purrfect Mornings

I start each day by interacting with the Herd. The mornings are important times for the cats and the cat-dog, Ellie. My morning ritual includes opening the blinds, and brewing coffee. In my comfortable pajamas and slippers, I make myself cozy on the couch, situated beside the windows. I am surrounded by a horde of cats and the cat-dog. We watch the sun rise, watch the wild turkeys, squirrels, and birds. Alternatively, on chilly days, Pops and I snuggle with the electric blanket. Ellie and a few furballs join in. Breathe in the fresh air. Think good thoughts. I find solace and tranquility in the mornings.

Sanctuary from the Noise

Beyond their adorable charm, cats hold a special place in my life as coping mechanisms. Their presence soothes my soul, helping me navigate through stressful situations and preserve my emotional stability. While the world outside can often feel loud and tumultuous, I have learned the importance of protecting my peace. I choose to focus on the “good music” within my walls. My home is a refuge where kindness and feline grace take center stage, providing a sense of tranquility amidst life’s broader challenges.

Navigating Life’s Hurdles

This year has by far been a challenging one. I have my elderly folks to consider, and I recently lost a dear friend who was a father figure to me. I lost a tree to a storm, my rig needed new tires, and I’ve felt the high prices of food and gas. In the midst of it all, I fostered many cats this summer and moved through the heartbreak of losing two of my own.

It’s life. I will keep moving ahead and stand my ground. In a world captivated by cats, they play a central role in my life. These felines are the enchanting performers of my captivating circus. They offer comfort, reduce stress, and provide a reminder of the enduring beauty and joy that life holds.
