United States now has over 260 Cat Cafes!

As of January 2025, the United States has emerged as a leading country in the global cat cafe scene. This development comes as a surprise to some.

The concept of cat cafes originated in Asia. It initially gained popularity in countries like Japan and Taiwan. Nevertheless, the appeal of these unique establishments is undeniable.

Customers can enjoy food and beverages while interacting with adoptable cats. This combination has clearly resonated with Americans. The rapid growth of cat cafes across the United States can be attributed to several factors. One factor is a growing appreciation for animal welfare. Another is a desire for more experiential and social forms of leisure.

Only one Cat Cafe in Montana!?

I’ve sadly never had the pleasure of visiting a cat cafe! The closest one to me, Cat Show Cat Cafe, is located in Bozeman. I need to plan a visit there soon. It’s truly a shame that we don’t have a cat cafe here in Missoula. You’d think a city of our size would have the capacity to support one.

It seems like Missoula is a dog-dominated city, which is unfortunate. Cats are such wonderful companions; they’re independent, low-maintenance, and don’t need constant attention. They’re perfect for people with busy lifestyles or those who live in smaller spaces.

A cat cafe in Missoula would attract many people. Cat lovers and those seeking a relaxing place would enjoy it. It would be a great place to de-stress after a long day. Visitors enjoy a cup of coffee with the cats.

A cat cafe would totally help more kitties find their fur-ever homes!

A cat cafe in our community will significantly boost our adoption rates. The environment of a cafe is comfortable and relaxed. It provides a more inviting space for potential adopters to interact with the cats. This setting allows adopters to bond better than in a traditional shelter setting.

This increased interaction and bonding can lead to more successful adoptions. Visitors are more likely to form a connection with a cat in a cafe setting. This makes them more likely to adopt, too.

Additionally, a cat cafe can be a valuable educational resource for the community. It raises awareness about responsible pet ownership. It also highlights the importance of adoption.

Start a cat cafe franchise!

Taylor Swift made a difference!

For fans of a furry friend with a waving tail. I was inspired by the news this morning. Taylor Swift. She was voted Time Magazine’s person of the year.

An amazing cat lover, she has three cats of her own. I love the names! Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button. She’s always posting pictures of them on social media. Here I quote from the WP article titled, The Economy (Taylor’s Version) printed on October 23, 2023.

In Washington state, Neko Cat Cafe hosted feline-friendly “Taylor listening parties” at its two locations to commemorate the tour’s arrival. The small business made over $3,000 from the event, with ticket sales at its Bellingham location — almost 90 miles north of Seattle — 140 percent higher than on a typical Friday night.

Forty cats, all available for adoption, wore Swift-themed bandanas while humans drank glittery wine and ate “Lover”-themed cookies. Tickets, at $40 a pop, promptly sold out.
