This afternoon was an unseasonably warm day for early December. The sun was barely shining, and the temperature was in the mid-40’s. Most of the cats were interested in going outside of the catio, which is a screened-in enclosure on our back porch that reached to the 60’s. I put Wolfie the Wobbly cat in the wraparound, then hung outside of the catio with Wolfie in my arms. Tanna, another one of our cats, also wanted to be held, so I had both of them in my arms.
I am feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after a week of staycation following Thanksgiving. I spent the week relaxing at home, cooking more leftover Thanksgiving dishes, and completing a 2000-piece puzzle. I am now enjoying an interesting and well-written book called Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher. I am particularly enjoying Timothy Egan’s writing about the life of Edward S. Curtis, a photographer who began traveling and taking pictures of the vanishing Indians in the United States in the late 1890s.
Edward S. Curtis dedicated his life to documenting the cultures of Native Americans. He faced many challenges in his work, including a lack of funding, the long process of developing photographs, and the resistance of some Native Americans to being photographed. Despite these challenges, Curtis persevered and produced a body of work that is considered to be one of the most important and comprehensive records of Native American culture.
Curtis’s story is a source of inspiration for many people, including myself. I am fascinated by his dedication to his work and his willingness to overcome obstacles in order to achieve his goals. I am also inspired by his commitment to sharing his work with the world, even though it meant that he often went without pay.
I have been thinking a lot about Curtis’s story in relation to my own work on the catpurrsanddrools website. Like Curtis, I have faced challenges in my work, including a lack of funding and a limited time frame. However, I am determined to persevere and produce a body of work that is both informative and entertaining. I am grateful for the opportunity to focus on the website, even though my house cleaning clientele has been greatly reduced. This allows me to focus on creating content that will appeal to a wider audience than just cat people.
I believe that Curtis’s story is a reminder that anything is possible if you are willing to work hard and never give up on your dreams. I am inspired by his example, and I am committed to following in his footsteps.
It is my fervent hope that one day I will be able to devote my entire attention to my true calling: writing about my life with a multitude of cats. After posting for a few months, I feel confident that I can continue writing about the challenges and joys of living with so many felines, taking pictures of my catification projects, and bringing in public comments and feedback. I would also love to start reviewing cat-related products.
I know that my writing has the potential to reach a wide audience of cat lovers, and I am passionate about sharing my experiences with them. I believe that my writing can help other cat owners learn from my mistakes and successes, and I hope that it can also bring joy to those who simply enjoy reading and watching video shorts about cats.
I would be grateful for any support from my viewers, whether it be in the form of likes, comments, or subscriptions. The more subscribers I have, the more funding I will be able to provide to expand my fur family. I would love to be able to rescue more cats, especially those with special needs or health issues, from AniMeals shelter and provide them with a loving home.
I know that many people are struggling financially right now, so I understand if you can’t afford to donate. But even a small gesture, like liking or commenting on my videos, can help me reach a wider audience and bring more awareness to the plight of homeless animals.
Every cat deserves a loving home, and I believe that I can make a difference in the lives of many animals by providing them with a safe and supportive environment. With your help, I can continue to rescue cats in need and give them the second chance they deserve.
I have attached the AniMeals shelter holiday newsletter for your reference. On page 8, you will see the program that I am actively involved in, Gaia’s Landing. Kitzy the Mascot was adopted from AniMeals six years ago and is now about 13 years old. He has gingivostomatitis, a condition that causes inflammation of the gums and mouth. When I brought him home, all of his teeth were already extracted. He currently has some kidney issues, which can cause him to become dehydrated. I give him fluids when he needs them to help flush out toxins and improve his kidney function.

He is a good cat, though he has his obvious flaws like any other cat. For one, he is a messy eater. He tends to spill food all over the place, and he doesn’t always clean up after himself. He is one who drools! He also has accidents every once in a while, usually when he’s not feeling well.
Despite his flaws, he is a loving and affectionate cat. He loves getting attention, such as petting his head or rubbing his cheeks. He also appreciates being brushed and groomed, since he can’t groom himself very well. He is a loyal companion, and he always seems to know when I need a cuddle.
Overall, he is a good cat who brings joy to my life. He may not be perfect, but he is loved unconditionally. Kitzy is the website’s mascot, so there.
The other two cats adopted from Gaia’s Landing, Missy Pebbles and Wolfie, are doing well. I had previously posted about them, but I wanted to give an update. To my surprise, Missy is still here. She has had some down days, but she is doing okay. Wolfie, on the other hand, is loving life. He is always playing and exploring.
The staff at AniMeals have been through some rough patches at the shelter this year. They have been struggling to keep up with the demands of caring for so many cats, and they have been feeling the effects of the stress. However, they have recently made some necessary changes that have helped them to improve their situation.
One of the most important changes that they have made is to add another day of the week to be closed to the public. This has given them some much-needed time to catch up on record keeping, deep cleaning, and most of all, caring for all the cats. They have also been able to use this time to plan for the future and to come up with new ideas for how to improve the shelter.
I want to add that I greatly appreciate the staff for their patience and diligence. They have been incredibly helpful in teaching me how to care for all of the Gaia’s Landing cats over the years. I am grateful for their willingness to answer my questions and provide me with the resources I need to keep the cats healthy.
Finally, I must mention Bill Forester’s The 7 Catmandments, which I recently published on the site. Bill is an amusing and fascinating character who had never lived with a cat before a friend persuaded him to look after two cats while they were away. He enjoyed having the cats so much that he ended up keeping them, and he eventually brought home more.
Bill’s story is both heartwarming and humorous, and it provides a unique perspective on the relationship between humans and cats. He writes about the challenges of living with multiple cats, as well as the joys of being a cat owner or being a cat owned individual. He also shares some of his own personal experiences with cats, which are both entertaining and insightful.
When you’re in need of some R&R, curl up with a glass of Pinot Noir and enjoy a few laughs reading The 7 Catmandments. This hilarious book is full of clever wordplay and puns that will have you giggling all the way through. Whether you’re a cat lover or not, you’re sure to find something to enjoy in this book. So take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and let The 7 Catmandments help you relax and unwind.
I’m ready for wine in my Tumbler now. Will you, too? The sun is setting into a beautiful evening and the Herd is resting at the moment.
By the way, my aunt AM texted me her drawing. It could be Wolfie the Wobbly riding in it.
