Celebrating a holiday with my furry friends

I wanted to create something truly special, an experience that would entice all of my cats to come together and delve into a shared moment of pure indulgence. The goal was to be a culinary delight that would satisfy taste buds and also transport participants to a realm of culinary bliss. I shall name this a Bundt Cake Special.

How did I develop the idea?

I recently made a Chocolate Peppermint Bundt cake to share with my human family and friends for the holidays. Bundt cakes are my specialty, as I enjoy the ease of baking them and how they turn out perfectly in the middle, with a nice, even crumb when sliced and plenty of room for frosting or other toppings. I have made many different kinds of bundt cakes, both sweet and savory, and even some that are a combination of both.

Making a cake for the cats

I used my homemade chick pudding and added the usual dry ingredients used for bundt cakes. Eggs and tuna were added. For the “frosting”, I pressed a few cat tube treats (Churu) onto the top of the baked bundt and topped it off with crunchy cat treats.

It turned out well, and every cat in the Herd tried it! That’s pretty good, considering that cats are not typically known for their love of sweets. The Herd have only eaten about a quarter of the cake. I plan to improvise a bit next time and add some more flavor boosters that they will enjoy.

Not all of the cats went to the Cake Special at the same time. It is no surprise. King Harvey and Roxy were the last ones of the Herd to try the Special. I made sure Wolfie the Wobbly got his share, as he had been eyeing it up the whole time.

A great idea for a Catmiss celebration!

They enjoyed the Catmiss celebration. I sprinkled catnip and bonita flakes all over the tree and made sure the ornaments were cat friendly. I’m glad I could make their holiday a little more special. They all have been good. No cat fights or any of the sort at all!

It was a lovely evening spent with my fur babies. I enjoyed my Cabernet and filming their antics.
